Crystal Clear Photos

A short trip to Colorado brought me some low water goods high in the Rocky Mountains with my good friend Fred. We drove south of his house in Carbondale to run the Upper Gorge of the Crystal River. This is known to be one of the most challenging and best creeks in the state. If you haven't checked out our video from the day make sure to see hat as well. Just scroll down a few posts and you'll find it. Here are the photos that went with that excellent day. It had been 5 years since my last visit to Colorado so it was good to be back and see these great rivers and huge mountains once again...and run the brown! I'm not going to quote each photo, I will let them do the talking...

Fun day out in a beautiful gorge running waterfalls...what more can you ask for? I just finished up in BC and have some sweet shots and video to post soon! Hope the summer in winding down well for everybody out there.

Hamma Hamma Falls Video

On the search for new goods in Washington I found myself calling around the state to local boaters for any ideas of waterfalls to go huck. After talking with a few folks that new what they were talking about we decided to go and head over to the Olympic Peninsula. Once off the beautiful ferry ride we rolled over westward to the Hamma Hamma river. Camping in an epic spot and meeting up with my good huck partner Fred Norquist we all rallied up to the falls and started scouting this stout.

The drop was scary and huge, a lot of elements going into the descent all together. The entry drop a 20 footer was very tricky and had some bad spots you did not want to end up in. As you can see by the video it was no plop and drop. The first part of the video is of our first trip out there and after Pat and I went down south Demshitz were on their normal Kill it Tour and stopped off in Northern Washington to drop this beast with Fred a week later...Fred took all the video and pictures and put them all together in this sick edit! Enjoy the hucking and super quality HD footy that we shot that day.

Now I'm back at Fred's house with the last of my money going for one grand finally to B.C. We are hoping the get some stout goods and have lots of good times and fine brines coming soon!

Crystal Gorge Video

Somehow my unbelievable gypsiness brought me all the way to Colorado, I don't know how or why but I'm here now. The first stop was at my good friend Fred Norquist's house in Carbondale. With a little bit of luck and some late summer rains the Crystal had enough water to make the Upper Gorge a runnable flow. Fred and I rallied up and sent Candace tromping into the gorge by foot. We had an incredible time even though it was extreme low flow. We still ran all the drops and got to run the whole Inner Gorge...that gorge reminds me a lot of the lower section in the Heath Springs gorge on the North fork of the American. Well enjoy the video we all put together and run the brown.

Some pictures are coming in an August Colorado update after the trip.

Cherry Bomb Gorge POV

Whilst in Upper Cherry we got tons of footage of the infamous Cherry Bomb Gorge. Here is a little taste of what it is like to drop into this deep canyon and run the amazing rapids that are so well known around the world.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and song choice...it was the summer of the World Cup as well! I think my season here in Cali is coming to an end I am heading to OR show while the Cali locals are dropping in on the Middle Fork of the Kings. I am planning some really cool fall trips to our neighboring countries! Stay tuned for some more missing updates and edits as I get all the media sorted from this season so far.
